Medicare & Health Plans

Turning 65 or navigating Medicare for the first time? Already on Medicare but unsure if you have the right plan? We help Southern Utah residents understand Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Part D drug plans, and more — at no cost to you.

Appointed with carriers including:

Humana UnitedHealthcare SelectHealth Aetna Wellcare Molina Healthcare HealthSpring

Coverage for Every Stage of Life

We also help individuals and families find ACA Marketplace health plans, dental and vision coverage, and supplemental protection. As an independent agent, we compare plans across multiple carriers to find what fits your health needs and your budget.

In smaller communities like those in Iron County, provider networks can be narrower than in larger metro areas, and some residents travel for specialty care. We factor that into every plan review, so you're not surprised by a network gap down the road.

Short-Term Medical

Between jobs, waiting for Medicare, or in a coverage gap? Short-term medical plans provide temporary coverage. They are not ACA-compliant, may exclude pre-existing conditions and many services, and are not a replacement for Marketplace or Medicare coverage, so we explain the limits first.

Choosing a Plan, Step by Step

1. Preventive Care Comes First

Preventive care is built into both Medicare and ACA Marketplace plans to help you stay healthy and catch issues early. Many plans cover certain preventive services, such as annual wellness visits, screenings, and many vaccines, at no extra cost. Covered services vary by plan.

2. Choose Your Core Coverage

Next, we help you choose the plan that fits your healthcare needs — doctor visits, hospital care, prescriptions, and copays. Some plans favor lower premiums; others favor predictable costs. We help you find the right balance.

3. Protect the Gaps

Many people add dental, vision, accident, or hospital indemnity coverage to help pay for costs health insurance doesn't fully cover — an extra layer of protection and peace of mind.

Common Medicare Questions

When can I enroll in Medicare?

Your Initial Enrollment Period starts 3 months before the month you turn 65 and ends 3 months after — a 7-month window total. There's also an Annual Enrollment Period each fall (October 15 – December 7) to make changes, plus special enrollment periods for certain life events.

What's the difference between Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement?

Medicare Advantage (Part C) bundles your hospital, medical, and often drug coverage into one plan, usually through a network. Medicare Supplement (Medigap) works alongside Original Medicare to cover the gaps — copays, coinsurance, and deductibles — and typically offers more flexibility to see any provider that accepts Medicare.

Does it cost anything to work with an independent agent?

No. Our consultations are free, and agent commissions are paid by the insurance carriers — not by you. You pay the same premium whether you enroll directly or through an agent, but you get personal guidance either way.

Can I switch plans if my needs change?

Yes. Depending on the type of plan and your circumstances, you may be able to make changes during the Annual Enrollment Period, a Special Enrollment Period, or the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period. We'll help you figure out your options when the time comes.
